Compassionate and Professional Psychiatric Care in Reston-Herndon, VA

Mental Health Clinic – Reston-Herndon, VA

This is Where Your Recovery Begins

We are conveniently located in Reston-Herndon, just off of the Fairfax County Parkway. Our approach to providing you with proper care is based on following principles:

  • Quality
  • Effectiveness
  • Coordination Between Services
  • Your Satisfaction

At our clinic you will be cared for by a medical doctor (MD), Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Psychologist (PsyD).

Psychiatrists (MD) and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (NP):

Our MDs and NPs are trained to consider the psychological implications of various medical conditions as well as the psychological impact of the medications prescribed to treat these conditions. As Psychiatrists or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, they are board certified clinicians able to prescribe medications which include ADHD medications, antidepressants, anti-anxiety or “anxiolytic” medications, mood stabilizers, antipsychotic medications, or other medications when safe and indicated.

Psychologists (PhD or PsyD), Counselors, and Social Workers:

A clinical psychologist generally holds a doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited university or professional school.  A psychologist is trained to understand behavior, and to help people to recognize and to change patterns in their behavior that have become counterproductive for them.  A psychologist can help a client to become “unstuck” from these self defeating patterns, and to feel free to make healthier choices in their lives, both in their personal relationships and in their work lives. Psychologists often work with individuals suffering from difficulties ranging from relationship problems, general anxiety, panic attacks, depression, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, eating disorders, and bipolar disorder.

A clinical social worker is a master’s level trained clinician who has training providing counseling to individuals and families, and may have additional training in a mental health specialty area or treatment modality.  Social workers often have a broad understanding of the interconnectedness of health care systems and often understand how to help individuals access care that they need from public institutions.
